Our Love Story

Our story began on June 29th 2015. We bumped into each other at a mutual friends party and hit it off. We knew of each other from High School but had never met before this day. Our first date was July 4th and yes…there were fireworks! We were quickly falling for each other. Dan was heading away to school at the end of the Summer and we were planning on trying out a long distance relationship until, Dan surprised me with the best news of changing schools to live at home. We spent every moment we could together until Dan popped the questions on December 4th, 2015! We were married in the Salt Lake Temple on April 29th 2016. We feel so blessed that we have the opportunity to work together. We remember the excitement of getting married and strive to capture that in each of our weddings. We believe that we capture the best images when we are together and hope you can see that through the work that we create.

Dan’s Story

It all started when I first touched my sisters professional DSLR camera way back in Jr. High (see her work here). I went on a trip with my family to New York City. This was the third time I had been there and my older sister had just graduated from Brooks Institute (now closed, but was one of the oldest and best private art schools for photography and film in the country). She brought her cameras with her and let us try them out! I instantly fell in love with the feeling of capturing something in my own way. I didn’t get my own camera till much later but I was taking images with my phone on a daily basis of sunsets and nature and the world that was around my home. I did this all through Jr. High and into High School. I would seek out the best places and wait for just the right light to look a certain way, I still do it today! Look back at my Instagram far enough and you will see what I am talking about! 

I eventually got my own professional camera later in high school, and my love grew! I was given an opportunity to volunteer as a full-time photographer for The Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-day Saints, Media Department from 2014-15, working 6 days a week, 9 hours a day on locations throughout Utah and at Church Headquarters. We photographed specific assignments for various departments for print and the web. I still submit images even today and the work I produced is featured and used in print, web and social media and seen by millions of people. Which is so humbling to me! I love that my images can be used to help spread a wonderful message to the world. 

I love and enjoy landscapes and nature almost as much as wedding photography. You will notice that as you wander through the galleries. I love traveling, seeing, breathing, living, new places and things. I want to do it for the rest of my life and I hope that you will let me be a part of yours! I care about and love my clients. I promise you won’t be disappointed with your experience with us. McKenzie’s Story

For as long as I can remember I have had such a love for art. Not just drawing or painting but creating. Throughout High School I knew art was something I wanted to pursue in my future. However, teaching school had always been a dream of mine and I knew there were many more opportunities to teach then there were to “make it” as an Artist. 

Last August I mixed the best of both worlds as I was hired to be a full time Art Teacher at an Elementary School. Since then I have started my own Art Program in my home and fill my days with messy projects and happy kids. 

I never expected to be joining my Husband as a Photographer but like I said, “I’ve always had a love for art.” This was a new type of art that I quickly learned to enjoy. My first experience with a camera was back in High School. My first job was an “Old Time Photographer.” I worked in an old smelly studio with very little air conditioning, at an amusement park. I helped dress people up in salon/cowboy costumes and props. Then I would arrange them for their family portrait. Yes, it was as bad as it sounds! I absolutely hated this job, BUT I loved the art of posing and arranging a family into different positions that brought out their character. This was the fun and rewarding part of the job! I got to witness first hand how a great direction can bring out personalities and the best in people. Making it in return, easy and rewarding to capture in a photograph.

The best part about photographing couples, families, or portrait sessions is when the barrier is broken between you and the person you’re photographing. I believe that good directing and natural posing can make or break a good session. Everyone wants to feel and look their best and a thought out, comfortable, natural pose brings that out in people. It’s important to me, as Photographers, my husband and I do our very best to make our clients feel comfortable, because that is when the magic happens in the camera. 

I have loved being a part of the Dan Page Photography team. My husband and I do our best when we are together and feel we push each other to continue to grow and become better at what we do! I can’t wait to meet more of you!
